Coarse Cinder Ballast (WOOB1390)

Coarse Cinder Ballast is a high-quality ballast material designed to reproduce the look and texture of real track ballast for model railroads. It helps anchor ties in place and is also great for modeling gravel roads, giving tracks a natural, gritty finish. Colors can be mixed to achieve realistic variation around the rails.

For easy application, a shaker option is available that contains 50 cubic inches of the same coarse cinder ballast. It works across a wide range of scales—from Z through G—with a scale reference chart guiding the appropriate particle size for each scale (fine, medium, or coarse). When applying, Scenic Cement can be used to secure the ballast for a durable, realistic surface along tracks or road shoulders.
