Fine Ballast-Gray Blend (WOOB1393)

Fine Gray Ballast Blend is a high-quality ballast material for model railroading, designed to anchor ties and form a realistic ballast bed along tracks. This fine gray mix helps recreate the look of real ballast and can also be used to model gravel roads or other textured surfaces. It mixes with other ballast colors to add natural variation, and it stays secured when fixed with Scenic Cement to deliver a durable, authentic finish.

For convenience, a Fine Gray Ballast Shaker is available, containing 50 cubic inches of ballast in a gray blend for easy, even distribution on track beds or road surfaces. The fine-grade ballast supports multiple scales, and a Scale Reference Chart provides guidance on selecting the right ballast size for common scales (including Z, N, HO, S, O, I, and G) to help achieve a proportional, realistic look across layouts.
