2% Incline Starter pieces are modular ramp components designed for the SubTerrain Lightweight Layout System, making it easy to start a model railroad track on a gentle 2% grade. Each piece is 2-1/2 inches wide and 24 inches long and raises the track about 1/2 inch, delivering a smooth transition between elevations. An eight-piece pack provides enough length to form a continuous incline, usable on its own or with other incline sections.

These foam-based starters are lightweight and straightforward to install, with no need for expensive tools, complicated calculations, or dusty mess. To install, center the incline on the riser, butt sections tightly, pin them in place with foam nails, and secure with low-temperature foam glue or foam tack glue. They help create realistic grade changes on a layout with minimal effort, whether starting a track on an incline or extending an existing ramp.
